Switching the Display
On and Off
After70 seconds,whenthemagnetron warm-upsequence is complete,the
Standbyscreenis displayed,with thetext STANDBY and a promptto pressthe
POWER key toenterTransmit mode.
➤ To switchthe radarscannerfrom Stand-bymodetoTransmit mode,pressthe
POWER key.
Thescannertransmitspulsed energy while it rotates,and the antennasweep
buildsup theradarpicture usingechoes returnedfrom targets.

➤ Youcanswitchonandadjustthedisplaybacklighting asdescribedlaterinthis
chapter.
➤ To switchto Stand-by mode, press the POWER key.
Thedisplayreturnsto the Stand-by screen, and the scannertransmissionand
rotation stops.
➤ To use Scanneroffmode:
1. Ensurethattheradaris in Standbymode,warmingup,or (ifthe unit is a
Repeater)displayingamessagethat radardata is not available.
2. PresstheCLEAR key.ThemessageSTANDBY. RADAR DATA NOT AVAILABLE
appearsin theradarpicture.Thescannerispowereddownand thetimer,if
running, iscleared.
To return to radar operation,press the POWER key.The warm-up countdown
isdisplayedandtheradargoesintoStandbymode.YoupressPOWER againto
switch to Transmit mode when required.
