Chapter 7: Setting Up the System Defaults
7.1 Introduction
Onceyouhave installed your displayunit and are familiarwith itsbasic
operation(describedinChapter 1and Chapter 2),youneedtosetitupsothat
itobtainsthecorrectinformationfromtheequipmentyouhaveconnecteditto,
operatesaccordingtoyour requirements, and displaysinformationaccording
toyourpreferences.
Thisis achievedusingthesoftkey controlsthataredisplayedwhenyoupress
the MENU key.
Inmostcases,youwillonlyneedtousetheMENU keyoptionswhenyoufirst
setup your system.However,youmaydecideto change thewayyouhave
customizedsome aspects,suchas the screenandhelpsetting,as you become
morefamiliarwithyoursystem.
Onceyouhavesetthevalues,theyremainasthedefaultsettingsuntilyoureset
them;they areretainedeven if you poweroffyour display.
