6.2 Measuring Distances Using the VRM/EBL Key
Youcan obtainanaccuratemeasurement of thedistanceand bearingbetween
twopoints by usingtheVRM/EBL key.
➤ To placea rulerlineandRulerdata box:
1. Positionthecursoron thestartingpointfrom which you wish to measure.
2. PressVRM/EBL.
A Rulerdata box is displayedshowing thebearingand distancefrom the
starting pointto thecursorposition.The characterA appears at thecursor
location.
3. Usethetrackpadto move the cursorto the measurementend point.A line
connectsthecursorto the startingpoint,andtheRulerdatabox isupdated
toshowthe bearingandlength of thelineasshownin Figure 6-1.
4. PressENTER tofixthe endpointof therulerline,and returnto normal cur-
sor control. The letter B marksthe locationof the end pointon the chart.
